As you embark on your adult life, it can be hard to manage responsibilities, navigate adult relationships, and role changes and increased demands, all while the brain is still developing. Like teens, young adults have a high degree of neuroplasticity, making it an effective time to make lasting changes that have long term benefit.

As people transition into adulthood, some mental health disorders typically present during this time. In addition, a predisposition toward a certain mental illness, like anxiety for example, may be triggered by the increased stressors. People often face new challenges during young adulthood. Therapy is typically a very rewarding young adults who are often very engaged and motivated to feel better, are starting to notice their own behavior patterns and cycles, and are often in a state of transition with new jobs, new career opportunities, academic pursuits, new relationships, starting families, or are in some cases trying to become more skilled with management of difficult emotions.
